Almost Summer

Hi - I haven't written anything for months but I believe it's time to start up again. Since tomorrow is the first day of summer, I decided to go to the beach this morning. Bob went with me! We packed up the car with our sand chairs, reading materials and sun screen and headed for the beach. The beauty of the beach down here is that it's only 10 miles from where we live and it only takes about 20 minutes to get there. Not at all like our experiences going to the beach on Long Island!!! In those days you made it a day trip and planned to have several meals there and time arrivals and departures around traffic. What a joy this is! I walked a bit but the beach was full of small shells making walking uncomfortable. Alas...I need water shoes! We left before lunch when I noticed a lot of color on my legs and feet. I've gotta do this again - soon! The only thing I missed was the smell of the ocean. I guess the wind was coming from the wrong direction.
